What you'll do
Searching for new things to do in Melbourne? Join Handmaker's Factory in West Footscray for this fun printmaking workshop!
During this class, you will be guided through hand-carving rubber stamps and bringing your own designs to life.
You will learn the following:
- How to turn your drawings/ideas into motifs suitable for stamp carving
- How to create stamps from rubber blocks
- How to use carving tools
- How to choose, use and set fabric inks on fabric
- Textile design basics, including how to create repeating designs and multi-layered designs with your stamps
You will print on a selection of fabrics and papers. Stamps are a great way to decorate clothing, create greeting cards, use in journaling etc.
A range of books and items to inspire will be on hand. You are also welcome to bring your drawings, interesting objects (think objects with interesting surface textures or patterns such as leaves) and inspirational books for stamp designs.
All materials and tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own papers, fabrics or clothes to print on.
