Make a Mug Workshop

This bundle includes admission to both Make a Mug & Pottery Painting Workshops. This bundle will have you make your own piece in the first session and then in the two weeks later, you will paint your very own piece before the final firing and receive your finished mug a week later!

In the 1.5-hour Make a Mug Workshop, we focus on form and skills to make your very own handmade mug. You will be guided by Emily (owner of Posy Ceramics) in the two skills of Pinch Pot and Slab Building. You will have full creative control over the shape, size, and handle of your mug. With any remaining time/clay, you can make a small dish, spoon, or item to accompany your mug.

In the 2-hour Pottery Painting Workshop, we focus on designing a print and drawing it on your bisque-fired creations. You have access to a range of colours of underglazes to finish off your perfect piece!

What to expect from your first Posy Workshop:
All workshops are beginner-friendly and do not require any prior knowledge of ceramics. If you have prior experience, it’s also catered to all levels. It's fun, social, and everyone will end up with a finished functional ceramic creation. Lots of attendees come alone, so don’t be scared if you don’t have a friend to bring along with you! We all sit together, listen to tunes, and share stories and laughs!

BYO:
Each session starts with a complimentary glass of bubbles, but the venue is BYO, so you can bring whatever bevvies (or non-alc) that you'd like!

Class sizes are strictly limited, and you must be over 18 to attend (unless stated otherwise).

The pieces are functional and can be put in the dishwasher/microwave.

Beginner Friendly
  500 grams of clay to make a mug and a small object. Once fired in the kiln, you will come back to paint your handmade piece with a variety of underglazes. The piece is then kiln-fired for a final time, and you will have your very own handmade mug!
