Learn how to make ice cream three different ways at home

Who doesn’t love ice cream? Wouldn’t it be fabulous if you could create your own? Well, in this live streaming class, owner of her own ice cream business Lee, takes us through the making of ice cream in your own kitchen with or without an ice cream maker!

During this ice cream making class, which is perfect for beginners, Lee will show you how to make ice cream through three different methods: traditional, gelati style and sorbet.

You will also learn tricks and tips and other ways to present ice cream beside the simple scoop and serve, ice cream sandwich and choc dipped sticks.

Sample menu:

  • Chocolate ice-cream traditional custard base
  • Strawberry ice-cream blended gelati style mix
  • Berry sorbet/delicious sweet fruit ice treat

This hands-on cooking experience runs for one-and-a-half hours with an experienced cook showing you techniques and answering your questions live via Zoom.

Menus will cover two to three dishes per session and are designed using pantry items and average shopping items. We ask that you purchase the remaining ingredients in advance for the class.

You will receive the recipe, ingredients list and cooking equipment required five to seven days before the class. These are usually items that you will have on hand in the average home kitchen.

What to bring
Please have the ingredients, equipment and recipe ready to go when you log into the class. This information will be sent to you five to seven days before the class.

The cost of ingredients will roughly be between $20 and $30, including basic ingredients you may already have at home. These ingredients can all be found in local supermarkets.
 
Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

Our home style cooking classes are designed to be fun, casual and informative. They are run in a hands on group style environment.
We teach you what our Mum’s and grandmas taught us over the years and share stories of our backgrounds and give you lots of tips and tricks to fix it when you might stuff it up.
Our classes are presented by regular people ( though some might work in hospitality).

We have a selection of cuisines to choose from including Sri Lankan, Indian, Thai, and Japanese. Our menus are seasonal and requests are welcome. We will do our best to accommodate them. Leanne was a patient
and caring teacher with a friendly manner and easy rapport. Her simple and easy to follow presentation style made this a throughly enjoyable and educational treat.
Additionally, she is endlessly patient
dealing with the large volume of questions. It was pleasing to see she answered every single question and provided necessary support for the cooks with all sorts of concerns.
All while this happens Leanne cracks jokes and shares happy anecdotes and stories.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes and I will gladly recommend it to others.

Very knowledgeable and great teacher. Lighting could be better and I found at times I struggled to keep up. Also it needs to be clearer that you should prepare the berries earlier - before class.
