What you'll do

During this class, you will learn how to make a large succulent terrarium, which are garden landscapes that live in glass enclosures. Terrariums are easy to maintain and perfect for modern living.

You'll get easy step-by-step instructions, as well as all the materials needed. You'll get just enough one-on-one feedback from the teacher, while also having lots of freedom to express your creativity, as you build, shape and customise your unique creations, just the way that you like.

This workshop is perfect for an anniversary, birthday or just because! Suitable for individuals, couples or a small group of up to four people. You're sure to have an unforgettable time!

The teacher was an absolute delight. She was a uper relaxed and created an amazingly chilled atmosphere.
The class was heaps of fun and would recommend it to anyone. We did it as an Anniversary activity and this private class was perfect for it. Also I got to make a beautiful large succulent terrarium which I named Larry, which I will cherish for as long as I live.

This was so fantastic Orla was so lovely to interact with. She was very informative and positive ☺️ The space was fantastic for a private workshop for two and we even enjoyed a peppermint tea whilst we worked. We learnt all about how to care for our new terrariums and what to look out for with them. Amazing value for money! And just so much fun! My daughter and I spent a wonderful morning with Mitch creating our terrariums. He is very knowledgeable and engaging. We were offered a wide variety of stones and plants. We learnt a lot and ended up with 2 fabulous terrariums.

What was the teacher like?

The teacher was so kind, engaging, passionate, knowledgeable, and fun. We had such great conversations about all things plant, and he was part of the reason the afternoon was so perfect. He encouraged us and offered professional tips and insight to make our terrariums look amazing.

How was the venue?

Merchant & Green is a cute little florist in Redfern and the perfect place to create your own terrarium. When surrounded by lush plants in such a quaint and cute little shop you really feel warm and in your element when creating your lil world.

If materials were provided, did you like them?

Everything we could have ever needed or wanted was provided. If we needed more soil or features or decorations they were all provided. Even items which weren't obviously needed for decorating were provided and looked for as our teacher tried to help us create the best terrarium we could. Most importantly the little plastic animals were provided which, let's face it, is the best-looking feature in the terrarium.

Was the class good value for money?

Considering you would buy a terrarium that size for about $100, you get to build your own, customize it, and have the knowledge and experience for an extra $50 per person, its very worth it.

What did you do / learn?

We were taught all about terrariums, how they work, why they work, and why they're made the way they are. We are then instructed step by step on how to create it, while being checked and encouraged at each step. Along the way, helpful insight and tips on how to create it as best as possible is given. We were also taught how to look after it at home to make sure it lives as long as possible.

Fantastic Private Class. Chris was great. We arrived for our class and Chris gave us some background on him and his business and how he came to be doing these classes, then we got straight into it. Chris explained whys and hows of every step of the process of making our Terrarium's. We both really enjoyed our class and would definitely recommend Chris and his classes.
