In this superb class delivered to you by the master craftsmanship of Ms. Emi Tanaka at Ceramic studio En, you will learn different techniques used by Japanese artisans to create beloved Japanese pottery.

This class consists of two sessions: one day of making the pottery (hand-building, no wheels) and another day of glazing.

Course outline:

  • Session one: You will make slab plates and bowls using different moulds or hand shaping. You will be making an average of four to six items in one day.
  • Session two: Painting and glazing.

This hands-on class is a relaxing morning, afternoon or evening activity, perfect if you're looking for a new creative hobby in 2023.

Please note:
  • The morning, afternoon and evening classes are all 3 hours long.
  • The Thursday class runs from 10am-2pm with a one-hour lunch break.


Knowledge required
This is a perfect workshop for a beginner which doesn't require any knowledge or experience.

Comfortable clothes (that you can get messy in) and an apron if you have one.
 
Session repeats

After the first session, subsequent sessions can be arranged with the teacher, at a time that suits you.
