What you'll do
This 5-week term workshop is designed for all skill levels, offering you the chance to learn exciting techniques like slab-building and coiling to make beautiful bowls, plates, platters, and decorative vases. Not only will you learn the relaxing and therapeutic art form of hand-building, but you'll also be able to experiment with surface decoration and glaze techniques.
Over the duration of the 5-week course, you'll be guided by our incredibly talented teachers, where you will learn a variety of techniques to give you the skills to create original and imaginative pieces.
- Week 1: Types of clay/clay prep - pinch pot project
- Week 2: Studio equipment/stages of clay - slab project
- Week 3: Trimming and refining - coil project
- Week 4: Student major project
- Week 5: Glazing techniques
*Note: You must be able to make all dates. We're not able to do makeup sessions if you can't make a date. A maximum of 5kg of clay per student is included in the workshop. Additional clay can be purchased through the studio.

Experience level: Beginner - IntermediateAnyone aged 13 and over is welcome to join, but anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class.

Crockd was started with one mission: to get the world out of its head and into its hands.
We were looking for a way to unwind from the week. We wanted something that could help us chill out and find a sense of ease. Something imperfect, messy and real. Something creative.
We figured we’d order some clay online, watch some tutorials and get our creativity on. Only ordering clay wasn’t so easy — it involved wholesale accounts and bulk amounts.
But although our impulsive crafternoon was out of reach, it got us thinking… Maybe there were other people (like you!) looking for fun date night ideas, a way to unwind or a way to connect with their creativity and with others.
So we hosted our first crafternoon with some mates and it was pure magic — interesting creations, deep conversations and a whole lotta laughs.
That’s when we knew this was something more people needed to experience.
So fast forward a couple of years, and here we are. Still shook that so many people believe in our mission, and want to get Crockd with us.
