Newcastle Craft Beer and Food Tour

Tantalize your taste buds with this Newcastle beer tasting and food tour

4 hours Class size 1 to 20 (public dates), 10 to 30

label $120 (or 4 payments of $30 Afterpay)

If you’re looking for exciting Newcastle activities, and you’re a fan of craft beer and delicious local produce, our beer tasting and food tour will tick all the boxes. We think that beer is one of the finest things in life, and the only thing that’s better is when it’s matched with mouthwatering food!

We’ll pack a huge amount of beer discovery into the three-hour brewery tour, where you’ll visit four venues in Newcastle and Newcastle East. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with beer tasting at every location, with delicious food matched with the local craft beers at three out of the four stops. We can even accommodate fans of wine and cider, and anyone who prefers soft drinks - just let us know in advance.

Where you will go on the tour:

  • Lucky Hotel
  • Foghorn Brewhouse
  • Wil & Sons
  • The Grain Store Newcastle

Our beer tasting and food matches will delight everyone, from the casual beer sipper to the well-travelled foodie. Think Berliner Weisse with brie cheese, sausages and Saisons and a porter matched with pistachio ice cream for pudding. The brewery tour also involves a lot of walking, so you’ll have the chance to burn off all those extra calories as well!

Come and get behind the scenes of Newcastle's best-hidden gems!

Important tour information:
  • Start: Meeting point is The Lucky Hotel 237 Hunter St, Newcastle NSW. Aim to arrive at 11.15 am to avoid keeping your fellow beer explorers waiting.
  • End: Drop-off at approximately 3:30 pm at The Hop Factory.
  • This tour requires a minimum of four guests. Your order will be confirmed once we have met minimum numbers.
  • Yes, we can accommodate wine, cider and non-drinkers, just get in touch.
  • Because our tours are truly behind the scenes experiences sometimes our plans need to change to accommodate brewery operations. And sometimes we just know about beer goings-on around town that are worth checking out, so we may change some parts of our tours. Whilst these changes are rare, we do reserve the right to make them. If you do have a must-see beer spot, please let us know when making your booking and we’ll do all we can to make it happen.
Please note: For larger groups of 12 to 20 people, a $500 charter fee will be charged. For any groups larger than 20, please contact us for charter fee prices.

“At Dave’s, we’re all about showing you local as we love it all; food, drinks, history, and culture. Come explore with us on tour!”

Our philosophy is simple – collaboration. We love bringing people together to taste and experience the craftsmanship of our local producers.

Whether that is on a behind the scenes brewery tour, a walk back in time through our pub culture on a pub walk, or a corporate event – everything we do is about connecting more people to local communities.

In doing so, we are supporting the passions and dreams of those who are bringing to market some of the finest products available and making visitors aware of the toil and strife that goes into producing great drinks and food.

To us, it’s more than the art and science. It’s the stories, the legends, the scars of effort and devotion to doing something different. It’s about connecting people who are passionate about what they produce with those who are equally as passionate about what they consume.

It was great day out. The pubs we went had amazing food and beers. Dave (Greg) did a great job entertaining us, from sharing his knowledge about the beers, brewery, matching the beers with food and great sense of humour. Highly recommended this tour to get to know the craft beers in Newcastle
