Learn the art of hand building clay with Mum
If your mum has a thing for homewares or enjoys creating things with her own two hands, then a hand building clay workshop at Klaypots might be the best gift for Mum this Mother's Day. Join the class together and learn how to pinch, coil and carve your favourite shapes out of clay. Mum can unwind and help her mind calm down as she sinks your hands into clay and gets lost in the magic of the creative process. This pottery class is calming and therapeutic as it provides an opportunity to unleash creativity while relaxing with like-minded people. Then, why not continue the day with the ultimate Mother's Day lunch with your friends or family. A gift like this is one of the most thoughtful gifts for Mum Sydney has ever seen—a handmade piece made by her loving hands and a delicious feast to top it off!
Indulge Mum’s sweet tooth with a cake decorating class
Does your mother have a sweet tooth? Or maybe she would enjoy trying something new on her special day? Either way, cake decorating workshops are among the top Mothers Day ideas in Sydney.
This sweet dessert class from Elin Kim allows Mums to learn from expert pastry chefs who will guide them through each step of the decoration process. Your mum can learn everything from buttercream icing techniques to piping rose fondant designs. And the best part? She gets to take home (and eat!) her beautifully decorated cake. Now that's what we call a deliciously perfect gift idea for Mum!
Whether you’re looking for experience gifts for your mum, a new mum-to-be or your nan, cake decorating classes are sure to sweeten up her day. Make it extra fun and join in on the class together, where you both can spend quality time and make something special and beautiful to eat.
Soothe stress with a soap making class
Unwind, relax and learn how to make soaps in Sydney! If your mum loves natural skincare products, then treat her to this cold process soap making class at Made by Me Workshop. This fascinating class will give your mum the chance to make her own handmade soap from scratch.
The cold process method allows the chance for Mum to know exactly what goes into her soap. Your teacher will guide them through the soap making process, from covering safety materials to adding botanicals and essential oils. By the end of the class, you and Mum can take home your custom soap to pamper and nourish your skin.

We offer an array of paint and sip classes throughout Sydney, suitable for all skill levels.
Whether your mum is an experienced artist or just looking for a fun, new experience, this paint and sip class at Monet and Moscato offers a relaxing environment to explore her creativity on canvas. All she needs is to BYO her favourite drinks and her teacher will provide the rest—expert guidance and a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere that encourages her to let loose and play with paint! Unwind and make flower bouquets together
Another excellent option for Mother’s Day ideas is a fresh flower arranging class. Flowers have always been synonymous with Mother’s Day but instead of simply handing over a bouquet this year, why not let Mum create her own?
We offer various flower arranging workshops throughout Sydney like this one from Hayfever Flowers. Their teacher will provide hands-on experience and expert guidance in creating stunning fresh floral arrangements from a collection of gorgeous blooms and foliage.
Not only will your mum leave the workshop armed with new skills but also a beautiful floral arrangement she crafted herself—a double win when it comes to gifts for Mums! Plus, think about all the future occasions where these skills will come in handy; you're essentially gifting an enjoyable hobby that lasts far beyond Mother's Day.
Giving these experience gifts for Mum on Mother’s Day is an excellent way to show how much you appreciate all she has done for you. Whether she prefers creative paint and sip classes, playing with fresh flowers or cake decorating herself, these weekend Mother's Day activities offer an opportunity for Mums to relax, have fun and learn something new.
This Mother’s Day, don’t just treat your mother with a traditional gift; instead, opt for an unforgettable experience gift that matches her interests—it may well turn out to be one of the best Mother’s Day gifts she has ever received! Remember: It's not always about what you give, often it's more about how much thought and love you put into choosing that perfect gift for your Mum!
