I attended the Korean seafood class as a gift. My teacher was great and uses her own knowledge and experience instead of blindly following the recipe. The seafood provided was fresh and of good quality. It was a very enjoyable experience overall.

A great experience. The teachers were all so friendly and helpful. It seemed a bit daunting at first but once you start cooking that disappears. We (2 of us) were paired with another couple who were great. If you don’t take it too seriously and have fun you can’t go wrong we got to eat what we cooked it’s a nice bottle of wine at the end. I’d definitely recommend it.

This Chilli Crab cooking class surpassed my expectations! I can hardly believe that I was able to learn so much in just three hours!

Our presenter Vinnie was engaging, humorous, and knowledgeable. The live demonstration was an excellent way to demystify the complexities involved in cooking what otherwise would have been a truly daunting dish for home cooks.

The hands-on workshop was brilliant. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet up with fellow foodies and cooking enthusiasts.

In summary, this was a fabulous and instructive class. I look forward to trying out my skills at home, perhaps for Chinese New Year celebrations in 2024!

For me, it was great to learn Italian cuisine with its delicious natural flavours and an opportunity to be more comfortable with preparing seafood. From watching the teacher in the amphitheatre, having a go in the masterchef kitchen with plenty of help available, then dining together afterwards, it was a warm, wonderful experience.

The BBQ Seafood class was great. As someone who didn’t feel comfortable cooking seafood on the BBQ I tended to shy away from this. However, after completing this class I feel I have the confidence to give this a red hot go. The teacher was great explaining the process and demonstrating some tips on how to prep the food well, particularly squid and prawns. A receipe book for the four items we cooked was provided. The kitchen was well set out with all cooking implements and ingredients within arms reach. The practical nature of the class was fun and despite being a solo participant I was put in a group and the prep and cooking was very much a group effort, before enjoying our four course feast with a nice glass of wine and bread. A great gift idea! Now to share my new found skills on the family! Thank you

So fun! You get to cook everything yourself in a group of four. Learnt how to cut the crab and all the tips and tricks to making the dish. Very well organised kitchen and class. Recipe was delicious.

The overall experience was good. We got to immediately try what the teachers taught during the demonstration. They were both really helpful and went through each one of us to make sure we're not lost or anything. All the ingredients and materials were already prepared, and they have back-ups for when something goes wrong. We got to enjoy the seafood we prepared and cooked at the end which was amazing given that we just learnt the process and recipes an hour before.

Great night, would recommend, will definitely sign up to an
class run by the Sydney Seafood School. Some drinks and nibbles to start to ensure no one is cooking while hangry, then into the theatre to watch how it’s done. The demonstrator and other staff were great. Then into the actual cooking. Quality ingredients were used and there were always someone around to help if we were even unsure about what to do. Great relaxed atmosphere and finished with enjoying the fruits of our labour with more wine!

Fantastic class for kids 7+. I sent my 2 x 9 year old girls off to learn to make dumplings and they had the best time!
The Instructors were lovely - so warm and positive and the girls were so proud of what they made. The kitchen that they use is a professional kitchen and the girls felt very grown up using it. We absolutely will be coming back again!

This was the first cooking class my mum and I have ever attended and it was such a special experience. From the canapes and warm welcomes to start, to the light hearted and interactive cooking demonstration from Fiona and her team to finally being able to use high class facilities to try cooking the dishes ourselves, I cannot rate about this experience higher. Having access to so much fresh fish and produce was such a treat for us as well and having the guidance of Fiona and her team as we cooked was invaluable. We met new people, learnt new things and took away some great insights and wonderful memories of our cooking class at the Sydney seafood school. We will definitely be back for another class!

We had an absolute ball! Our team of Navy Chefs participated in a Seafood Basics Master Class, at the Sydney Fish Market. Our instructors Fiona Baxter and Jen Vickery were delightful, there knowledge in cooking was incredible! Not only did they host our class with poise they cracked a few funny jokes which really broke the monotonous classroom setting that we are all used to.
The girls were extremely professional and courteous when they conducted our practical. They sure know how to move around a kitchen, and will assist you if your struggling to comprehend the next method.

The facilities are super clean and modern, we were using state of the art equipment along with our fresh produce from down stairs. Even if you weren't a qualified chef and you pride yourself being a home cook, you'll love this class! It was so much fun and it really encouraged our fellow colleagues to work together.

Not too mention the food was scrumptious! Beautifully presented Squid, Mussels, Pan Fried Bream and Blue Swimmer Crab Salad was served with Crusty Baguettes and your choice of beverage. I truly believe my peers were in high spirits after dinning together, so I am praising the 2 Ladies & Kitchen Hand for that.

I would also like to thank Alex Stollznow for the introduction in the morning. His guidance around the markets was very informative. The tour was an hour and a half, behind the scenes amongst the auctioneers. Alex is great, I would politely put it, he is the modern Johnny Depp of the Catering World. His funny jokes and knowledge of seafood are marvellous. I think he would work well in the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, as every fish had its own tale.

Once again a huge shout out to Amelia Maait and Tonia Swanson for orchestrating this whole event. Those ladies were in sync and were very approachable when putting together a package that was suitable for our needs. I can't wait to complete another class with their team. So go out and give it a ago, you won't be disappointed.
