Guided by our pizza masters, learn the secrets to curating authentic Italian pizza from scratch using the finest seasonal ingredients and techniques.

You’ll roll up your sleeves and get your hands messy as you learn how easy it is to make a pizza base. Top your dough with high quality, simple ingredients that will definitely convince you of the “less-is-more” ethos!

We don’t want you drooling over your pizza dough, sip on a glass of wine/beer and graze your way through some antipasto as you wait in anticipation of your creation. Your pizza creation will then be enjoyed fresh from the wood-fired pizza oven.

Since our inception in 2012, we have expanded our NSW locations to Broadway, Circular Quay and Drummoyne plus our Sydney beachside additions Cronulla and Dee Why.

Originally based at Bourke Road in Alexandria, we have re-located our ‘Salt Meats Cheese Kitchen’ cooking school to our Circular Quay venue. At the same location is our newest addition, the fabulous rooftop Bar Ombre by SMC, now open for dining, sipping and events.

Absolutely brilliant experience. A lovely restaurant and wonderful friendly staff. The head chef was so patient and really awesome at teaching, and was kind enough to come round and check everyone's pizzas.

Great and delicious afternoon learning to make a perfect pizza base. The team at Salts Meats Cheese were excellent teachers and hosts. My partner and I loved the class, and can't wait to try making home made pizza bases now we learned the best ingredients to use, techniques for kneading the dough, and how to shape base. We had a pretty good experience. However, the class seemed a bit rushed and we didn't receive recipe cards as advertised. I can't say I know how to make a pizza base at home without knowing how much of the ingredients to use etc.

The venue was a nice place but was hard to hear the tutor due to customers still eating in restaurant. The staff were fantastic and very attentive and it was great to learn from a real Italian chef who was patient and very helpful. We had a pizza we made, cooked and sat down to enjoy. Drinks were included which was a nice bonus. Just some little things to improve, like how to take care of the dough when you take it home. We had some issues stretching the dough as it had dried out in the fridge and also how to get it into the BBQ oven as we didn't have anything to slide it off. At the venue the staff did all that and they have the full set of equipment. But overall it was great fun and would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn how to make pizza dough
